Managed WordPress 2.0 Beta end-of-life plan

The Managed WordPress 2.0 beta period is coming to an end. We've used a lot of what we learned during this beta period to improve the Managed WordPress 1.0 experience and we're excited for you to see the improvements we've made.

When is the beta coming to an end?

Migrations are expected to start automatically on September 2, 2020.

How long will the migration take?

Migration will take one day, so it'll be complete by the end of September 3, 2020.

What happens to the remaining time left on my existing plan?

All remaining time purchased for your Managed WordPress 2.0 plan will be credited to your new Managed WordPress 1.0 plan. The Managed WordPress 1.0 plan closely compares to your beta plan.

What's the price difference?

If your new plan includes additional features, you may experience a small price increase. To confirm, check your renewals once the migration is complete by going to your GoDaddy Renewals & Billing page. You might be prompted to log in.

What if my domain is registered with another registrar?

If your domain is registered with a third-party, update the DNS with that registrar once your migration is complete. Find your Managed WordPress IP address.

What else do I need to know?

  • We’ll move all site files, databases, backups, login information, plugins, themes and CDN.
  • Your FTP/SSH credentials will be reset.
  • You have access to one FTP user profile.
  • The available phpMyAdmin version is older on MWP 1.0. Functionality remains the same but the appearance is different.
  • If you're using the temporary domain name it will change to a new randomly generated domain name.
  • The Flush Cache option is now available in the Admin Control panel.
  • Managed WordPress 1.0 has a plugin block list. This list contains plugins that duplicate functionality of the hosting environment or have critical vulnerabilities. If we detect that your site is using a plugin that is blocked, we automatically remove the plugin once the migration is complete. Learn more about which plugins are blocked.
